He has a long neck, which can make for a very good bulge. In addition, once a prey's head is pushing down his esophagus, they are no longer actively subjected to his pheromones, so the effect may begin to wear off.
Stomach
The stomach is like any other and digests things, and he can't bring stuff back up voluntarily. The stomach acids within it are very thick, about the consistency of honey, and they are very potent. They're corrosive enough to even digest steel types with ease.

Saul primarily hunts by using his pheromones to lure a snack into a false sense of security and feed themselves to him. Alternatively, he might have someone feed the snack to him, while leaving the prey still in sound mind. Often these treats are results of the spoils of a pokemon battle between his trainer Bryce and another.
He gets very jealous, and is liable to eat one of his master's pokemon if they seem to be garnering too much attention that he thinks is rightfully his.
Of course, he might encounter someone without susceptibility to his hypnotic scent, and then he could be overpowered and eaten.
