Ruzzy sees the good in all creatures that he meets and finds himself confused by many customs which he finds strange, though he’s slowly acclimating.

Ruzzy is sure that the journey he is being led on is full of adventure and is determined to explore and enjoy every moment on it, under the protection and guidance of his guardian spirits.

Creative

As a potion maker, Ruzzy is always putting together new ingredients to experiment and create new things, and may enlist the help of others to try out the effects of concoctions that come from his cauldron. This gryphon form is a result of his potion exploration

Mouth

As a gryphon, Ruzzy's digestive system starts with his beak. He has no teeth, but can bite down with the sharp edges. He must make a bobbing motion to swallow.

Crop

He has a short neck, before the prey slips into the crop. The crop sits at the base of his neck, and is a soft squishy sack that safely stores treats for a time. He can control whether things come back up from his crop or are pushed further along.

Stomach

The stomach is like any other and digests things, and he can't bring stuff back up voluntarily.

Gizzard

The gizzard is a strong muscular organ pass the stomach that receives its fluids and can crunch down and break bones through mechanical action. Hard objects may get lodged here and used to pulverize prey. Once thoroughly liquified, the chyme is pushed on, but the indigestibles like fur, bones, clothing and the like are compressed into a pellet, and returned to the crop, where they will be later expelled out the mouth.

The Rest

Everything else proceeds as normal, through the small intestine, the large intestine, and then out, with a note that anything expelled typically contains no trace of the prey unless he overate.

Cheerful and easy going, Ruzzy finds himself as somewhat small for a gryphon, and being a more preyish species himself he can fall prey to many a different suave or greedy pred. He likes to hang out among other gryphons and exotic creatures, and his naivity can make him more susceptible to ending up as a snack for others.

Since turning into a Gryphon, Ruzzy has found himself with a few more cravings than he had as a zebra. Occasioanlly he finds himself hungering for proper meat and he gives into his inctincts, consuming prey. His more predatory friends also have a habbit of trying to encourage him along towards such methods.

History

Ruzzy grew up in a small collectivist tribe before making his way across the sea to new lands. In his homeland, he was used to children reared in one large group, rather than associating with any one parent. Needs were provided for by the tribe, and everyone contributed what they could. However, while there, he’d been training as a shaman to take over for the current spiritual leader, learning all about the great spirits and various potions. However, in the process of his vision quest, the guiding spirit has lead him far from home.

Shamanism

Ruzzy is trained in the way of shamanism from his native home, and as such knows how to listen to the spirits, and to call on them for aid. Presently he’s on a vision quest to achieve true mastery of this skill and it has led him on a long journey. Perhaps one day it will lead him home again. Additionally this skill comes paired with a vast knowledge of herbalism and potion making, something with which he’s putting to a good use now in his temporary home. Here he makes potions and mixes ingredients to make a living, and is quite skilled at it too.

Fallout Equestria

Originally hailing from this setting, here Ruzzy comes from a relatively sheltered life, living among some of the savage tribes that arose after the bombs fell. Much knowledge about technology has been lost, as the tribe fell into subsistence farming and hunting and gathering. Still though, at his coming of age his vision quest has led him out into the world to gain new knowledge and bring it back to the tribe once he has obtained the mastery he seeks.
