17:29 Gyro Feather found himself on his way home after a days work out on the docks, overseeing the production of a new vessel, when his eyes catch sight of a familiar looking mare, whom he'd seen at the library a handful of times. The gryphon takes a moment to slick his feathers back with his talons, and then approaches her with a smile on his face. They'd spoken before...but only briefly...what was her name again? Uhhh...ahh right.
As he gets close enough, he offers her a nod of acknowledgment and says, "Wonderful day today, isnt it, Waning?"

17:36 Waning Crescent was on her way home from running her errands, and was rather eager to get somewhere private so she could relax, the lithe mare always stood out, and always seemed more than a bit uncomfortable in the presence of other equines "i... i guess... though it's not really my preferred weather"

17:42 Gyro Feather matches her pace as they walk on, though a frown crosses his beak as he notices her nervousness. "Oh? I suppose youre the type to prefer the rain then? Or is it a bit too on the hot side for ya?" Without asking, the bird swipes her bags off of her back and hoists them onto his own, "Let me get these for ya," he adds after the fact.

17:48 Waning Crescent sighs and lowers her head as though the sun itself is bothering her "it's too warm, yes, but it's also a bit too bright for my comfort" she moved as elegantly as you'd expect from a mare with legs as long as hers, but she was impatient to not be standing right now, she wanted to go relax as she usually does

17:53 Gyro Feather bites down on his tongue as she explains, and then, an idea hits him. The bird moves in front of her and fans out his wings to cast a dark shadow across Waning's face as he blocks out the intense glare of the low hanging sun. He walks backwards, keeping roughly the same pace as he had before, though perhaps less surefooted as he couldnt see where he was going. "Is that any better for ya?"

17:59 Waning Crescent just stares at you for a moment, then moves her head to try and see around you "not particularly... you're blocking my view of the road" she says with a mildly annoyed tone, starting to move around the gryphon so she can see where she's going

18:03 Gyro Feather merely just sighs his head dejectedly and lets her move around him before resuming his pace. "Alright...alright alright...I was just trying to be helpful," he says with a chuckle, before following along some distance back to the mare's house, or wherever it is she's going.

18:10 Waning Crescent eventually makes her way to a forested clearing away from any possible passerby, both heavily shaded and secluded, she picks a rather grassy spot and moves to settle down onto it

18:16 Gyro Feather drops the bags by the side of a nearby tree, and leaves them there, save for fishing out a fairly large salt lick. The bird settles down on top of her and brings his beak down to grab a mouthful of hair, before gently tugging down it as if they were feathers, smoothing out the oils and pulling out any of the tangles. At the same time, the bird presents her the cube of salt below her snout. "This is a rather nice spot you've got out here," he mumbles between mouthfulls of her mane.

18:22 Waning Crescent lets out a small squeak when she feels the weight settle onto her back, and the tugging on her scalp as he begins to preen the rather confused mare, she makes no protest despite the confusion and lets the attention continue. however she turns her nose at the salt lick, it seems she has a bit of an aversion to them

18:30 Gyro Feather snorts in amusement as his salt lick is rejected, and lets the treat drop down onto the grass before her. The bird cointinues to drag his beak through her wirey mane, slowly combing through every inch much like he would do with another bird. At the same time, wtih his tail, he fishes out a sugar cube and presents that to Waning instead, letting it sit nestled amongst his bring pretty peacock feathers below her muzzle.

18:37 Waning Crescent tends to get a bit sick from extremes of salty or sweet, and is prone to being fussy when it comes to either variety of cube, her tastes tend towards more balanced flavors. her mane wasn't particularly wiry, it was well groomed and supple, which explained much of how it tended to lay on her head, though the different colored locks seemed to vary in texture, hinting at how they manage to cluster the way they do

18:45 < Gyro Feather> (alright...fine...rather than me guessing at things...as I was intending on feeding you something leading to accidental insertion, and the consequences there of...what do you suggest? Unless you're not keen on that idea at all I suppose.)

18:49 < Waning Crescent> (sorry... that's not you... just... i don't have a taste for most of the usual horse stereotypes, i just can't see myself eating large amounts of sugar or salt without feeling sick... my stomach is rather sensitive that way...)

18:51 < Gyro Feather> (ahhh the atavism is mostly in others I take it then? And...I was imagining a smaller sugar cube, so you'd end up taking teh tail up with it. Question still stands though...what ought I give her that she'd accept. Preferable something that doesnt require chewing. ^^;

18:54 < Waning Crescent> (behaviors don't really include senses like taste hun...i have a cat that loves potatoes and hates catnip... and i'm fine with most things, but those two things are just far too much for me...)

18:56 < Gyro Feather> (alright, sorry about the OOC, just trying to pin things down xP)

18:57 < Waning Crescent> (i'm sorry for being so fussy lately... pain and stress wear me down)

18:59 < Waning Crescent> (my responses are likely to get slow again soon)

19:05 Gyro Feather moves down off of her mane, scratching his beak through the fur on the small of her back down till it reaches her tail that that he's finished off his first pass through her mane. The gryphon starts right at the base, biting down genltly on her dock and pulling along the hair starting from teh roots. Noticing her disinterest in the sugar cube too, he lets that fall to the ground once again with a sigh. The gryphon reaches for the last thing he has in the bag that he'd consider a treat, though...he had nothing to put it on. Instead, he takes a scoop of peanut butter onto one of his fingers and offers it, third times the charm after all.

19:06 < Waning Crescent> (that would be a horse stereotype...)

19:07 < Gyro Feather> (Huh? is it?

19:07 < Waning Crescent> (mister ed, that old show, peanut butter and horses. but i also had to live off the stuff for a long while so i'm... not so good with it anymore)

19:08 < Waning Crescent> (the things i'm worst with are excess salt, sugar, mint and peanut butter i have a hard time tolerating those)

19:09 < Waning Crescent> (sigh... i'm so sorry... you just keep pulling out the exact things i can't handle)
